Theodore Tugboat Online Activity Center

While my children were babies, one of our favorite children’s shows was about a small train named Thomas. Okay, they were too young to understand the show, but I really liked it. The miniatures were so life-like, and the production values were extremely high. Great entertainment. I still catch it today if I can find an excuse to.

Well, today’s Family Site is about another type of children’s program, one that is very reminiscent of my friend Thomas. The site is The Theodore Tugboat Online Activity Center. Theodore is, if you haven’t guessed by now, a tugboat. What Thomas is to trains and railroads, Theodore is to boats and water. He is a young tugboat who lives in The Big Harbour along with his friends George the Valiant, Foduck the Vigilant, Emily the Vigorous, and Hank. The site includes a lot of activities for young visitors. There is a meet the characters section, interactive stories, a coloring book, and if your computer has Real Audio installed, one can listen to a complete story online, with a new one every month. Teachers and parents can check out all the synopsizes of the programs, find out more background information about tugs, and offer suggestions to the webmaster. There are incredible amounts of links to other sites, for both kids and television professionals.

So move over Thomas and make room for Theodore. Children’s imaginations are limitless, so there should be room for all of you. Have a pleasant visit and come back often.
